After morning pickup from your Darwin hotel, travel by air-conditioned coach about 60 miles (100km) southwest to Litchfield National Park, taking in the scenery along the way. As you near the park, note the numerous waterfalls that cascade from a spectacular sandstone plateau called the Tabletop Range.

Your first stop is to see the magnetic and cathedral termite mounds that rise like pillars from the ground. Your guide will explain the different types of termites and point out which termite mounds are which.

Next stop is to Florence Falls where you come to a 135-step stairway that descends to the fantastic natural swimming hole surrounded by
monsoon forest. After spending some time swimming and taking in the beauty of Florence Falls. At midday, stop for a cold buffet lunch at the Litchfield Cafe and try some of their world-famous cheesecake.

After lunch return to your coach for a short drive to Wangi Falls. The falls flow year-round, pouring into a giant swimming hole flanked by rainforest. In the drier months, the pools are great for a swim. During the wet season, the currents can be too strong for safe swimming.

In the late afternoon continue to Tolmer Falls for great views of this stunning waterfall that cascades into a deep rock pool.

Next your tour will head out of Litchfiled National Park and back to Darwin. On the drive home your guide will talk about the traditional owners of this land, who are the Wagait Aboriginal people, many of whom live in the area.

Day 1: Darwin - Kakadu National Park - Nourlangie Rock - Yellow Water Wildlife Cruise
Depart Darwin and enter Kakadu National Park and stop at the Bark Hut for some morning tea (at own expense). Next, travel to Nourlangie Rock Aboriginal art site. Here your guide will talk about the escrapments and the different rock art that is found here. You will then enjoy a cold buffet lunch.

Day 3: Ubirr Art Site - East Alligator River Cruise - Bowali Visitor Centre - Darwin
Travel to Ubirr to explore Aboriginal artwork. Your guide will take you through and explain the different arts that can be seen here. They will also take you up onto the rock formations to see the view across Kakadu National Park.

Next, join an Aboriginal guide on the Guluyambi Cruise along the East Alligator River. Here you will cruise between Kakadu and Arnhem Land. Your guide will talk about the history of the area while spotting crocodiles and birdlife. Your guide will also show you the technique of spear throwing.

Next head to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge) where a hike is rewarded with a reviving swim in the in the beautiful clear plunge pools. Day 3: Kakadu - Katherine (B,L,D)
This morning you have the option of a scenic flight over Kakadu (price from AU$150 pp) the sheer size of Kakadu means the only way to truly appreciate it is from the sky. Then spend time exploring Kakadu’s other major Aboriginal rock art site Nourlangie or Burrungi as it is known to its local traditional owners. Here your guide will give you a snapshot of how the local First Peoples have lived in an area with 20 000 years of documented occupation which is reflected in some of the rock art. After lunch head south stopping to visit the historic gold-mining centre of Pine Creek before traveling further on to Katherine and settling in for the night at the private campsite on the doorstep of Nitmuluk National Park. Day 4: Katherine Gorge - Darwin (B,L)
Depending on the season, this morning embark on a cruise along the inky waters of Katherine Gorge or take the chance to head out by canoe between red rock walls up to 70-meters high (both activities are optional at own expense). Formed by the Katherine River flowing from Arnhem Land to the Timor Sea, this 23 million-year-old natural marvel is one of the Top End’s true wonders. After lunch experience a truly authentic Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander cultural experience. This interpretive display will not only teach you about local culture of the First Peoples but will also provide hands on experiences including fire making, boomerang and spear throwing and the chance to try painting your own First Peoples artwork to take home as a unique souvenir.
